Cast of Characters





Rick Szuba, coloratura tenor from Brantford, Ontariao, has performed with well known opera companies throughout Canada, singing lead roles in "I Puritani", "La Sonnambula", "Madame Butterfly", "La Traviata", "Rigoletto", "The Magic Flute", "The Fledermaus", just to name a few. For our Dawson Creek audience, he will sing the challenging role of Nemorino in L'Elisir D'Amore.

Iren Bartok - a coloratura soprano from Edmonton, performed Christina in the original London England production of "Phantom of the Opera," and since then performed the title role in "Madame Butterfly", Musette in "La Boheme", The Queen of the Night in "The Magic Flute", among other roles. A magnificent voice - all that power but with all the nuances!

Mallory Smith studied classical guitar at the University of Juneau, Alaska. Later, he became involved in choral groups around Fort St. John, where he now - by trade - is a plumbing, heating and building contractor. His great talent in singing won him leading roles in the Symphonette and Choir productions of "Merry Wives of Windsor', "Czar and Carpenter", Orpheus in the Underworld", "La Belle Helene' and "The Beggar Student".

Allen Crowley is director of marketing and sales for Utilicorp in Calgary. In musical circles, he became a highly sought afterbassist and actor. He was involved with the Edmonton and Calgary Opera Chorus. In Dawson Creek, he is remembered for his hilarious roles in "La Cenerentola", "The Merry Widow", "The Gypsy Baron", "The Merry Wives of Windsor", "The Fledermaus", and "La Belle Helene".

Camille Hesketh is a music student of Vancouver's well-known voice teacher, Phyllis Mailing. She is a promising young soprano who aims for her bachelor in Music. Singing in school productions and in different choirs, Gianetta in "L'Elisir D'Amore" will be her first complete role in opera.
